Notice on the Selection Plan for the 2025 Spring Semester Challenge Scholarship (Emergency)

The selection for the 2025 Spring Semester Challenge Scholarship (Emergency) will be conducted as follows. Please actively promote this opportunity to encourage many students to apply.
A. Expected Number of Recipients: 77 students (73 undergraduate students, 4 international students)
B. Scholarship Amount (per person): KRW 1,800,000
C. Application Period: May 26 (Mon), 2025, 09:00 ~ May 30 (Fri), 2025, 17:00
Note: Applications will not be accepted after the deadline (17:00). Please be mindful of the closing time.
D. Application Method:
Log in to the Chonnam National University Portal (http://portal.jnu.ac.kr) → Education Support → Academic Administration → Scholarships → Challenge Scholarship → Access “Scholarship Application” → Write and submit a Challenge Plan
E. Selection Plan: Refer to the attached file and the announcement on the university website

Promote the Challenge Scholarship selection plan to students
Approval staff for the Self-Development Activity Record Book must approve the submitted applications daily during the application period and ensure all are processed before the deadline. If unavailable due to travel or other reasons, please assign a delegate to handle the approvals.
Academic Planning Division:
Promote the Challenge Scholarship selection plan for Yeosu Campus
Office of International Affairs:
Promote the Challenge Scholarship selection plan to international students
Information Systems Office:
Update the system programs and promote the plan through a popup on the university website
Career Support Office:
Approve entries for the Self-Development Activity Record Book

Eligibility:
Undergraduate international students who meet all of the following conditions:
◦ Completion of at least 12 credits in total across all semesters
◦ GPA of 2.50 (78 points on a 100-point scale) or higher in the most recent regular semester
◦ A TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) score of Level 4 or higher
※ First-year students may apply starting from the second semester Challenge Scholarship application period.
※ GPA and completed credits are based on regular semesters only. If the most recent semester was not a regular semester (e.g., seasonal semester, field training, or exchange program), the GPA and credits from the most recent regular semester will be used.
※ Only entries recorded in the Self-Development Activity Record Book and approved by the college office staff by the application deadline (17:00 on the last day) will be recognized.
※ Only test scores obtained within two years of the application deadline will be accepted.
