About CCHC
The Competency Coach of Humanity-Community certificate program (CCHC) is a private qualification formally registered with the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training (KRIVET), a government-funded research institute in the Republic of Korea (Registration No. 2024-001635). CCHC offers two certification levels: Level 2 (Foundational) and Level 1 (Advanced). To earn certification, candidates complete the required coursework for their level and pass a final assessment.
Who is a CCHC?
A CCHC applies humanities knowledge and values in community and care settings. CCHC holders are prepared to:
- understand community issues critically and interpret them in the context of everyday life
- connect people, mediate conflict, and support cooperation and solidarity
- organize local resources, set shared agendas, and design participatory, democratic ways of working together
- support sustainable community practice by addressing burnout and strengthening resilience
Certification levels
Level 2 (Foundational: theory and reflection)
Level 2 focuses on core concepts and reflective practice. Participants build a shared understanding of the value of humanities-based community work and develop foundations for contributing to humanities-based community culture across settings such as families, schools, neighborhoods, and cities.
Level 1 (Advanced: field expertise and leadership)
Level 1 focuses on leadership and advanced practice. Participants learn to design and run humanities-based education and practice programs in community and care settings, and to lead initiatives that cultivate humanities-based community culture across families, schools, neighborhoods, and cities.

Coursework and assessment
- Writing assignments: Participants submit a short writing assignment after each session (six total). Feedback is provided.
