Physics is the basic studies for applied sciences as a field of pure science in which natural phenomena are explored. As its importance is increasing, it becomes more important to educate students to become competent scientists and enthusiastic physics educators who will help advance physics education. The primary goal of the Department of Physics Education is to educate students to become competent science teachers of secondary school so that graduates can go out into the field and teach their students on the bases of theoretical knowledge and practical scientific experiments.

We offer a wide spectrum of curriculum which can be categorized into three: The general subjects of physics to help the students develop their physics knowledge, the courses of study for the teaching profession, and general education courses to prepare the students to be competent teachers. The general subjects include Mechanics Education, Electricity and Magnetism Education, Quantum Physics Education, Thermal․Statistical Physics Education, etc. which help students to acquire a fundamental knowledge of physics. The courses of the study for the teaching profession are offered to prepare students to become good teachers in secondary schools. Principles of Physics Education, Research of Physics Teaching Materials and Teaching Method, Theory of Teaching Physics, etc. are required subjects to help the students to become experts in teaching. Moreover, the department offers a variety of theoretical courses for developing principles as well as courses of practical experiments. In addition, general education courses are constructed to provide general understanding of the overall education for students and to assume their roles as teachers who actively participate in the field of education.
