Educational Objectives
Oral biochemistry is a discipline that studies biochemical metabolic processes based on the cellular biological structures of the hard and soft tissues that make up the craniofacial region. In particular, oral tissues among the craniofacial tissues are broadly divided into hard and soft tissues, and this field of study deals with how various biochemical metabolic processes, such as carbohydrate, lipid, and protein metabolism, and metabolic abnormalities in these two domains are related to the development of oral diseases.
