Educational Objectives
Prosthodontics is a field of clinical dentistry that aims to restore functional impairments and aesthetics in cases of significant damage caused by dental caries or trauma—resulting in practically non-existent tooth loss—or when a single tooth or all teeth are completely missing. It is a discipline in which dentists play a central role in both clinical practice and research. The curriculum encompasses fixed prosthetics, partial dentures, complete dentures, occlusion, implantology, geriatrics, and clinical practice. Accordingly, the Department of Prosthodontics is responsible for a total of 47 credits and 140 hours of lectures and practical training, which accounts for approximately 29% of all courses offered in the College of Dentistry. The Department of Prosthodontics faithfully carries out the lectures and practical training of the established prosthodontics courses to cultivate excellent dentists.
